1)Based on our discussion in class, what do you think needs to happen to the police officer who killed 22-year old Oscar Grant? Should he be charged with a crime? Should he lose his job? Should we question which police officers are allowed to carry guns?
2)Some of you shared with us people you know in Oakland who had similar experiences here in oakland. If so, what exactly happened and when??

I think that the police officer should lose his job or have a punishment.I have never had an experience like Oscar Grant and I hope not.

I think he should be in jail RIGHT NOW because it not far for him to just take his life away and he had a 4year little girl.it going to be sad because shes going to grow up not knowing her dad.

I think what needs to happen to the former bart police officer who killed Oscar Grant should be interviewed even though he had quit. I think the bart officer should be interviewed by a lie detector to see if it was really an accident. If it was not an accident he should be charged with crime. Again if it was not an accident he should lose his job even though he all ready quit. I do think we should question if police officers and bart officers can carry guns because if they don't accidents like this wouldn't happen. But if they don't have weapons people will not listen to them. I think officers should carry guns but instead of having bullets in them they should have rubber bullets. No I have not expirienced any thing quite like this before. But I did hear on the news that a 12 year old boy shot his baby cousine by accident thinking that the gun was fake but when he discoverd it was real it was to late and his little cousine was dead. I think that the security guard was ***** and he should lose his job and got to jail. I had never had an experience with my family like what happened with Oscar Grant and I hope it stays like that

I think that the goverment needs to give Oscar Grand family some money.Also put in jail the Bart police.They have not done that to someone on my family

i think that bart police should not carry guns just tazers and those bat things.this police should get arrested and into jail until he dies or when he goes to jail let him stay there when he get really old use the deaf penalty.

Justice is finally Served. It's about time The former bart officer got put in jail. But it's so weird because they arrested him somwhere in Tohoa or Neveda. It seem like he was trying to leave his old life and try to start all over somewhere new. I still think he should be asked the question was the murder an accident or not with a lie detector to see if he really meant it. So that we could have justice if he did mean it but, if it was an accident it should also be fair to the former bart officer also. But as long as he is behind bars and justice is served I'm fine with it. But I also feel kind of bad for the bart officer too because I know everybody makes mistakes and sometimes we make dumb/big mistakes and what if this was a just one big/dumb mistake. But there is nothing we can do about it now. I just think they should really see if the bart officer meant it or not just to know and to be fair. I hope whatever happens about this situation the better comes out of us. I also think that we should all learn from this one mans mistake and just make us more stronger not more hatred. But I do feel really bad for Oscar Grant's family because they have lost a one of their most loved ones. I know I can't say how I think they feel because I have never expirenced something like this and hope not to. I just hope the right thing happens for both sides.
